Fresh pork pan sausage
Fresh yard eggs fried in the drippings
Sourdough bread toast

Picante sauce over the eggs (Juevos Rancheros)
Fig Preserves
Cold Milk

Make no attempt to keep the ingredients from mixing on your plate, in fact encourage the mixture. Place a slab of egg on the corner of the toast topped by a half of a sausage patty. With a fork plaster fig preserves into the open areas between the sausage and egg and toast so as to hold them all together. As best you can drench the mound with egg yolk/fig/picante mixture from your plate and maneuver the toast corner and accoutrements into your mouth. This requires some skill or brute force whichever you prefer. Savor, masticate (come on guys, get a dictionary!) When the contents of your mouth reaches a consistency which allows you to open it slightly without leaking, take as large a drink of cold milk as you believe is possible and allow the mixture to flow down your throat.

This is much more enjoyable if done in solitude or at least in the absence of an old woman commenting on the process.

If I wasn't completely stuffed I would go do it again!

I miss my mothers fig preserves with the wedges of lemon peel that were sweet and almost as good as the figs themselves. That description was so mouthwatering I had to cut and paste it sending to a few select friends who could truly appreciate it.:D

I'm not great on spelling either Alan but do ok on food items esp Mexican as my daughter in law is from Torreon, Mex.
Sides are cols slaw nad cowboy beans- member making them- some kind of bean mix(pintos, butter, red,Gr northern with seasonings and some gr meat- I like plain pintos with onions etc but he is making them- also coleslaw and BP biscuits-start serving at 11am so I cooked brisket yesterday- will heat it up in foil Sat am in my smoker and cooker on trailer- then slice and serve--It's a money maker for our local Saddle club--club house is an old one room school which some old time members attended so they want to save it-- ok by me- should be fun but it tires an old fart out.
