I'll be out in about a week for the Dirttime training/conference described in a previous thread. I signed up for the bow making class so I'll have a primitive to add to my store bought and custom bows.
I think it should be a fun week. Just have to be careful not to have too much fun eating and partying because I have a backpack trip about a week later. Don't want to let the legs atrophy and the gut enlarge!
This week I need to harvest a couple dry yucca stalks. I've had a few guys tell me that wood is excellent for making firestarting drills. I'd like to get better at that just so I can annoy my friends by starting campfires that way.:D
Anyone do any survival training or practice this summer?
