Anyone ever change out a 10/22 trigger?
I just bought a new 10/22 and it has the worst trigger I've ever seen on any gun. Like rubbing 2 pieces of 50 grit sandpaper together. I know I can get all kinds of stocks, barrels, clips, ect. but I've never noticed anyone advertising
a better trigger for this gun.
Any help is appreciated.:)

There are actually several different custom triggers for the Ruger 10/22. These range from replacement triggers, hammers & sears to total replacement trigger housing with all the parts installed. Basically you can go as mild or as wild as you want in regards to a 10/22 trigger.

There are also some very good informative articles on the net on how to tune what you have. This past April 30th I went in for Hip Replacement Surgery (for the second time on the same hip) and during my recovery I had to do something to keep my sanity so to speak.

I studied and studied and ended up tearing into my wifes 10/22 doing a complete Action / Trigger Job on it. In the end I ended up doing Trigger / Action Jobs on about a half dozen 10/22's for friends of mine.

It is really not all that complicated to do, and if the instructions are followed a really good trigger can be realized.

However you stated you just bought a new Ruger 10/22? If that is the case and it is a new production version then it may not be quite that simple. The new Ruger 10/22's have a PLASTIC Trigger Housing, PLASTIC Trigger and PLASTIC Barrel Band. I have worked on 3 of these new style PLASTIC Ruger 10/22's now and 2 of them turned out OK, but the last one will need some parts (namely a replacement trigger as the plastic one drags on the housing, even after lots of sanding with 2000 grit sandpaper).

I put an aftermarket sear in one ten years ago. I had to do a little stoning to let the safety engage but otherwise it was a snap.
