I was at my favorite store the other day and a goober (you'll see why in a second) comes in. He says, will you give me $500 for these 4 guns...I want to by a .45 (a Springfield XD is what he left with). They were a Springfiled 1920 (I think that was the model #) single shot .410, a Remington single shot 314 (I think) .22, a Remington 1903A3 w/a LH stock and a Weaver K4, and the last one, which is what my question is about...an Erfurt 93 in 8mm, it had a stamp of KAR88 just below the ejection port. It was in decent condition, but sporterized w/a butterknife handle bolt. I saw it again today and it was in layaway for $129...BTW, did I mention that the goober said that he was saleing the guns as he'd had them for 2-3 years in the safe and his GRANDFATHER's guns were just taking up room.

So, what is the ERFURT ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_1888_Commission_Rifle ) worth?

It depends on the condition, whether is has a .318" or .323" bore and the quality of the work that was done to the rifle. The right person might pay a decent price. However, the rifle would probably be worth more in military condition. Around here, that rifle would not fetch a lot of money. Take care...

Stinky,

I agree with Joe, the Kar88 is not worth much as is. You may use it for cast bullets, after you determine the bore dimensions. I would offer $50-$75 for a parts gun.
