GreenJeans I haven't even seen any of it around our area! I figured a good burn would get the scent to moving around and if you have your 4-wheeler or are on horseback, you can spread that scent around yourself. We used beaver carcasses that had cooked out in the sun to make them nice and ripe. Then drag several of those beavers behind the ATV or your horse etc. I also use it to rub on my boots going into the stand area. It has worked well for this Ole country boy in the past.:) :D :D

yep i know of lots and lots of burns to do. Never used beaver carcasses on any of my baits before. Maybe when i go trapping this year ill save some carcass and put it up in a tree in a sack or something.

When I went bear hunting, we got 5 gallons of waste honey from bee keepers.
We would mix in 2 or 3 bottles of anise from the local food store.
When we got to the cabin, we soaked hand towels in the mixture, and draped or hung them in trees. Made a great cover scent, and the bears loved them.

In the picture below, you can see a towel in the tree just above my left shoulder. THAT SAME NIGHT another bear came and pulled the towel down. He ate the ENTIRE towel except where his foot held the towel down. I wish I took a picture of that.

The guide begged us to leave the bucket of honey for his bait supply, and we did. There was about 3 gallons left.
With the strong smell of Anise mixed in, you don't have to burn the honey.

I've used the sticks that you burn insde a bucket with holes. The sticks came in anise, dead fish, & wild berry "Flavors". I'm sure they work but I really didn't use them enough to really test it.
