I guess you could call me generally in favor of having some wolves out there - but not at levels which make the Elk (or deer) herds unable to maintain a stable population.

And yes, I'd be happy to put a skin on the wall and a skull on my desk. Probably one is enough for me in this lifetime, as it would be with a Griz or a lion.

Note that this article is almost a year old. That doesn't change the mesage, but it's out of date as far as control goes.Today the Idaho wolf season officially opened.

Hah! I didn't even notice that it was out-o'-date :D

I was looking for the link to that AK griz 'attack' that some of us have been wondering about and didn't see squat about the griz, but that wolf piece was on there.

i saw one opening weekend at about 150 yards . but my area isnt open yet . i see that they also just nailed someone for taking one in a closed unit

also the IDF&G web site is now saying the judge just ruled tonight and the hunt will go on
