Just wondering..... with at least 19 countries manufacturing them, which are the more desirable ones to purchase?
I see some have forged, and some stamped actions, and 10 different variants.
What do they do, demilitarize them by doing away with the full auto function, or are some made as semi-auto?

I don't know if I'd really want one, I had an AR-15A4 that I shot High Power with for a couple years, but I never really liked the gun as much as I liked my sporter riles. It ended up being traded in for an XP100R I wanted.

Just wondering in case I run into one for a cheap price and want to mess with it.

Not surprisingly, opinions vary greatly. I have a Kalashnikov AKM variant with a milled receiver and Steyr barrel. Shoots more accurately than the stamped steel receiver models I've fired. However, the tolerances in my receiver are tighter so it might not tolerate a mud/dirt bath quite as well. Furthermore, if I drop it on a rock and crack the receiver, I've got big problems. With a stamped steel receiver, some folks feel you might be able to work the dent out and put the rifle back in use.
