The May issue of the NRA American hunter has a good article by Bryce Towsley on getting some new life out of those old fixed choked shotguns. Send a barrel to Briley in Texas and they drill it out and supply the desired flush mount choke tubes and choke wrench. Time is just a couple of weeks.

The example he gave was a double barrel with both barrels being drilled and returned with five choke tubes, wrench, and tube case. Cost - $399. A single barrel starts at $95 for the drilling plus the cost of the desired choke tubes.

The Briley chokes are outstanding. I would have done this modification with my old M12 20 gauge instead of a Poly-Choke had it been available way back when. I do use the extended Briley chokes in my M870 and it throws such an even pattern compared to the stock Remington flush mounted chokes that I can go to a more open choke and still get the same number of hits on the target.
