We all tout what we like about what we have. What would you like to change if you could?

in many cases ID love to find an almost indestructible matt finish camo or at least dark gray, synthetic stock with a precision machined aluminum inletted action mating block, available as an option for most of my rifles, and have them available as a factory option.
ID also love to have rock solid , really solidly mounted flush mount swivel anchor connectors for slings and bi-pods , and rings that mount into the receiver like some ruger and sako actions have

I'd like a higher magazine capacity than the 3 permitted by my .338 A-Bolt. For those times when you get into a whole bunch of hogs or are shooting at running pigs.

Maybe also a little easier let off on the safety.

But I really like the short throw on the bolt lever.

The safety on my M99F works just the opposite of the way that I think it should. It is located on the rear of the lever on the right side and you pull it back to fire and push it forward to safety. I'd like it to push forward to fire as that seems the most logical. The CZ bolt action that I was looking at once had the safety the same way to pull backward to fire. One of the reasons that I didn't buy that rifle. I'm also going to talk to a gunsmith about lightening up that M99's trigger pull. Once you get used to a crisp bolt action trigger pull, other actions trigger pulls take some getting use to.

I don't like the one click equals 1 cm at 100 meter adjustments on my European scopes. Even the cheapo US scopes have one click equal .25" at 100 yard adjustment. On my ZM/Z Zeiss 1.5-6x42 I don't like the tunnel effect at low power. It goes away at 3x but my VM/V 1.5-6x42 Zeiss does not have that.

I do not like button safeties in triggerguards which is what my Winchester M88 has.

I love my T/C Encore, but the one thing I dislike is the spur on the trigger guard which is used to release the barrel.

It might just be my sling that causes my discomfort, but it's not a pleasant prod I get from that spur when I hunt in warm weather without any padding from a jacket.

I'm tired of the LOOK of the boss on my A-bolt II. Although it does improve accuracy. At the distances I now hunt, tho, 4 inch groups at 100 yards would be fine!

My Ruger m77 mII is not free floated. Change of impact, low, when I get into a tight sling for shooting. I like shooting a tight sling on my CZ .22, which is free floated. I should take the 15+yr old rifle to it's first session with a gun smith over it, and touch up the trigger for good measure. I keep threatening, but never make the move.

I'm also getting interested in changing to a scope with hash marks at 2 moa, 4moa, and 7moa. That would be roughly 300yds, 400yds and 500yds aiming points, but the question of need vs. want keeps popping up. Heck, I don't even shoot that far anyway.;)

I elk hunt with a Remington Sendero....after a day of carrying that dude you want wheels on it. It is extremely accurate but it is heavy.

Bushman- genius question my friend. I love all of my rifles so this is hard......so hard...a real Sophie's Choice....tearing up a little here but if I had to want improvement I would say the bolt could be smoother on my CZ 550......(Daddy's sorry baby - he didn't mean it).

Gentlemen, the only thing I don't like about my hunting rifles is simply NOT be able to use them as often as I like or want to. We are in a heck of a recession and please don't anybody tell me the nation is climbing out of it slowly but surely.

Now look at what happened last week with the SATURN car maker!!!
How many people do you think lost their jobs because of the "shut-down" which is permanent. Now for everyone who worked at the Saturn car plant, you can figure a ratio of around 12 to 1. Meaning 12 times as many people actually will be out of work.

Now all the new jobs are low paying and most lack the benefits that go with a good paying job. Something this country that is getting hard to find for those unemployed period.

None of my deer rifles came with a guarantee of a buck with each
shot. I don't know how these companies can get away without a
decent guarantee like that.:D:D:D:D

A Friend of mine tells the story of going to a gun show and seeing an almost new price on a used rifle. The owner countered with "Yeah, but it's a proven rifle!"

I've got one like that when good things just seem to happen when I'm using that M700.

I don't much care for the safety on my Sako 75. Everything else on the rifle is great... and it shoots very well.

I've got an octagon barreled Winchester M92 that was my step-dad's father's rifle and it is a fun gun to shoot. Being chambered in the .25-20 though, I don't know what to shoot with it. I know that it would work for deer, but I have so many other rifles that would work better. It is too big for small game and too small for big game and with that big buck horn open sight, not accurate or powerful enough for anything very far away. It has always been kind of an enigma rifle that I wonder what it's used for?

I dont like the trigger guard location of the slidiing safety on my Savage 99, or the button safety in the trigger guard on my browning bar. I have a Winchester 95 Centienial that has the cross bolt safety wish is horrible.. I dont even use it when I have hunted with the gun..

I have a nice Browning replica of a Winchester Model 65 in 218 Bee - I do like the gun, but I wish it was chambered in something more like a 44/40, 45 LC or 44 mag.

That is about all I can think of for now.. I am pretty happy with the rest of my rifles and shotguns

Since all of my big game hunting rifles are indeed model 70 Winchesters, with all the bells & whistles installed at the factory, I don't have any wants for anything else in a rifle. They have served me well over the years and I have no complaints about a model 70 with per-64 action and beautiful walnut stock.;)

I've got a CZ 550 in 308 and a Rem 700 in 243
I have an after market stock on the CZ (mine was an early one that had a Plywood factory stock) and this stock makes it carry like a cinder block after a while
But it will clover leaf at 100 so I won't change anything,I absolutely love the action
The rem is just a plain Jane plastic stock
I love it I have put a 2x7 Burris,a 3x9 leo,and now a 3x9 Bushnell eli, and every scope just helped it shoot better its a tack driver
But If I could have the weight of the rem and the action of the CZ those 2 would be perfect
Due to bad shoulders I do most hunting with a handgun now and contender in 10" is just fine with me or a S&W 6 gun

Encore 209X50 - I love this gun, but... the firing return spring is weak, and when it eventually gets crudded up by BP residue it will stick, making it stick into the primer, and you can't open the gun easily. Gotta take that sucker all apart and keep it squeaky clean... this means knocking the pin outta the frame and taking the barrel off. Yuck. If you shoot a lot of BP this means you're doing this quite often. Maybe every couple of weeks.

White Blacktail 45-cal - I love this gun too, and it's the most accurate gun I own, but blow-back cruds up the underside of the scope. I put black tape on it to protect the scope. Also, there's a hole in the action that lets blow-back and cleaning crud drop into the trigger, which eventually jams the trigger. Fortunately it's easy to take the trigger off and clean it.

if I didnt like it it would go to the back of the same or I would trade, sell it or get another, no need to put up with something if you dont need to. problem solved.

I was lucky enough to find a Mannlicher in a lefty but alas it's a Steyr Mannlicher model M and those folks pulled a Winchester and changed a nice looking, metal trigger guard and magazine to a rinky dink plastic one. I say pulled a Winchester as Winny pulled a version of that back in the late 60s early 70s by going to a pot metal feed for their famous thirty thirty rather than the prior machined feed platform. Folks immediately saw it as a huge drop in quality and sales suffered greatly. I'm hoping to find an after market magazine and trigger guard one of these days. Perhaps Steyr will wise up and go back to machined metal parts. Other than that the carbine is a superb beauty that shoots perxactly where you aim.

TexasPatriot.308, I don't mean to throw the baby out with the bath water, just what kind of irksome little things that you can live with, but that you would like to change if you could. I'm on the fence right now about switching the 1.5-6x42 ZM/Z Zeiss on my 7mm-08 to the 1.5-6x42 VM/V Zeiss on my .308. An upgrade that is a little lighter in weight with a wider FOV.

I like everything but the plastic stock. However, tt shoots too well to mess with and I would rather have another toy (game cam, small generator, new rifle, etc.) than a fancy stock on my limited budget.
