Now that is a super buck in my book...! I would have never guessed him at better than 175 so my guessing skills are not so hot, regardless, that is one fine animal...!

I wouldn't have guessed him that big either, but I don't look at very many bucks with 24" spreads.;)

Here's another one shot the day before yesterday in the same county where I shot my buck last year. This one weighed 225 lbs. I think they may have quickly scored him yesterday at 251 before any deductions. He may be close to a new state record for a non-typical buck. He has 30 scoreable points.

Looks like QDM is alive and well in the state. The bow guys can get those big ones the first couple weeks of the season when the deer are still in a summer feeding pattern. You won't see them again until early November otherwise. The DNR wanted to set aside one entire county in the south west just for trophy whitetails because it had the feed, the genealogy and the more mild climate. It didn't fly, but deer like those pictured just goes to show what some age will do for a set of antlers. Being part of the Niagara Escarpment, I've often wondered if the limestone doesn't have something to do with how some areas can grow antlers.

Thanks for sharing. Amazing deer.
V, I missed that one too. I don't even try to guess on those nontypicals!
