3 of us went out to the mouth of the Columbia River yesterday. I landed 2 nice silver bright red-meated coho plus brought another to the boat and then a seal grabbed it a split second before we could net it. One second I was looking at a nice 10 pound coho and then it morphed into an 80 pound king salmon that appeared to swallow it. My heart rate picked up 20 beats. Of course the king salmon turned out to be a seal but it was one hell of a tug for a few seconds. Also caught 2 nice sea run cutthroat trout and a mackerel. Mackerel are not supposed to be up here. In fact I wish they would stay down in California where they belong. Greybeard/

Great stuff. It is finally cooling enough for me to consider a couple of freshwater weekend trips before deer season starts.

It's about time to start thinking about this again. I'm wanting to head down to Buoy 10 and possible a tuna trip out of Westport.
Dou you use a specific guide each trip?
