The 2A1 Rifle is a neat 7.62x51MM short rifle that resembles the .303 British Jungle Carbine complete with flash hider. I got my copy about a year ago at my local gun shop. It is about 100% in and out. I have worked up accuracy loads with the Lyman #311467 semi-spitzer cast bullet and 150 grain jacketed loads. Surprisingly, both shoot to the battle sight at 100 yards.

I have always preferred short rifles and carbines in military issued arms and this 2A1 will be with me on opening day of rifle deer season here. Does anyone else have, and like, the 2A1?

I have one I bought about 15 years ago for 80.00. Like yours, mine is near 100% condition inside and out. Mine didn't feed very smoothly and ejection was weak when I got it. A bit of work on the magazine and a replacement extractor spring corrected both problems and it now feeds and ejects perfectly. I made a scope mount for mine, drilled and tapped the receiver for it and mounted a 3-9x40 Baush & Lomb. I then did a bit of bedding work on the forestock, made a lace-on leather cheek rest that raises the comb 1" and now she shoots Federal 150 grain power shock factory loads into 1.5" groups at 100 yards.
