This one is from Minnesota and was shot on Monday Sept. 21 in Houston County Minn. It's a 16 pointer with a 20 inch spread and lots of mass. Green gross scores 188 4/8".

Perry, as much as I would love to put a buck like that on the wall, I just posted the picture. It was another lucky hunter who actually put his tag on this buck.

I am kind of surprised that MN. is not ahead of WI. in B&C / P&Y deer having hunted MN. They start their gun season at the peak of the rut while we get to hunt post rut in WI. Those big guys are over there and the sign they put down is amazing after what you've seen for sign in NE WI. Lunch plate to steering wheel size rubs and tracks that are your rifle butt fits into. I was talking to a lady who had seen a big buck in an area that I was hunting and I asked her how big the antlers were? I expected her to put out her hands, instead she made a bow with her arms! It is the kind of area that draws a guy back.

Having gun season at the peak of the rut is great for seeing deer, but bad for letting bucks get old. IL, IA, KS, WI, all produce giants and none have the gun season in the rut. I'm not exactly sure, but it seems IN & OH don't either, and have one buck per year rules.

No problem, dude! Just get yourself a crossbow and hunt the 'archery' season...
Just razzin', Dave.....:D:D:D
Funny, though - the CT gun season is post-peak of the rut and we're not exactly overloaded with wallhangers...

Congrats on the MN buck. Hope that guy did a lot of breeding to pass on those genes.
