Does anyone have the step by step proceedures in detail about hide preservation with the fur on....

I probably have some info you'd like to look at but what I have is not on my puter.

A member of some forum sent it to me years ago. I don't even remember what forum or who it was. :confused:

I think that what kind of hide it is from makes a lot of difference. I had a November killed whitetail tanned with the fur (or is it hair?) left on and because it was his winter hollow insulated coat, the thing shed worse than the dog. A friend had a bear rug do the same thing and as far as I know that bear hair isn't hollow. My stuffed stuff seems to be hanging in there, but then I don't pet them that much.

Try an antelope some time. The hair is very fragile. Even when it's freshly killed, you can grab the hair and pull out handfuls, leaving bare patches of skin. If you drag it at all, you'll wreck it.
