IM looking for a small DEPENDABLE (double action preferred) pocket pistol in A STAINLESS OR POLYMER FRAME
about the aproximate size of a PPKS in 380acp or better yet 9mm para, that is about the same size, weight as a PPKs for the wife, shes a good shot with a ppks but IM wondering if there anything new on the market thats potentially better since thats a 70 plus year old design(

I'll agree....get a Kahr and don't look back. Very small and ultra dependable.

My 1911 has a design date going back even farther, but nobody pokes too much fun at it. Just because the design has a few years on it doesn't make the firearm any less capable. There have been changes in firearm design, but the basic Human Target still has all the usual frailties, that can still be exploited by a well placed bullet of any number of diameters.

Not stainless but I really like my .380 Kel-tec (same basic gun as the ruger lcp) its small, light and mine goes bang every time I pull the trigger. If you want a 9mm parabellum they also make a pf9 that is basically a larger version of their p3at (.380) same controls just more bang for your buck. I have both and I carry the pf9 most of the time now (carried the .380 for a couple of years before the 9mm came along). I've had 2 ppk's and liked them both but my wife adopted the first one and my son got the second one when he got his pistol permit. Being small and light in weight the pf9 has a pretty strong kick with the heavier bullets but I loaded up some 95gr bullets and its a lot easier on my arthritic hands. But let her handle them and decide for herself, then she'll think that was her idea all along.
