We are renting my mom's house and the new tenants wanted to use their old gas stove. That means that I have a high end electric one to do something with. It is a stainless Frigidaire Gallery Professional Series with a ceramic top and self cleaning convection oven with dual radiant baking and roasting. I could put it down stairs for safe keeping in case those tenants move out with their gas stove or swap it into another rental for the new stove in there that doesn't have a self cleaning oven. I'm not enough of a cook to know the difference of what a convection oven does over a standard one. Do most people know the difference and would they appreciate the up grade? Thanks.

Convection ovens are great. They cook much better and more even.

Mom-in-law has one; it's really great for a number of things, but of course you can use it 'regular' for others. Crappy for frozen pizza for example, because convection doesn't dry things out, so your pizza can get kinda soggy just from the frost on it:mad: There's also a trick to baking with it, because once again you're trying to remove moisture and the convection mode doesn't do that.

It does, however, put a really nice browning treatment on a chicken or turkey, and cooks it faster.

But what's really the bug's nutz is her steam oven. Best thing that ever happened to leftovers, and probably the perfect non-frying fish-cooking device.

If I had a convection oven to put into my own home, I'd do it today. I don't think you'll get much return on it as a feature in a rental property unless you just happen to find a tenant who does actually cook. Which practically rules out anybody under about 40 these days ;)

I have one they are terrific with mine to can use it or turn it off
Think of it as a Professional over
what ti does is circulate the Air/Heat so entire oven area has the same temp
also the moving air cooks even
I think you'll like it
