I just bumped across an article...Seems there's a new CT state record out there that grossed 177 or something and netter 172-ish. An 11-point with freaky-lookin' brow tines that were as high as any others on his rack....

And here I thought we just didn't have the goods to grow 'em that big around here, but maybe a well-groomed lawn is as good as a food plot after all.... :D

So I know that's a really good buck (heck, it made B&C!), but I'm wondering.... How big is 'as big as they come' in the rest of the country?

GF, I suspect that you are working with a different sub-species out where you are. I see those heavy body weight bucks coming out of the north east yet they have proportionally smaller antlers than what I would expect to see around here. I am reminded of a statement that Leonard Lee Rue III made at a seminar that I went to. He said that the bucks that we get to hunt here in the upper mid-west are the same sub-species as those found in the Canadian Provinces and have the potential of growing the largest antlers of all the whitetail species. With so many deer hunters here, most bucks get shot off before they can reach their potential.

those don't count because the viewer is unable to know what state they are from. referring to Rembrant deer.

Damn, man... That 200-incher is just ridiculous!

So Hink... Any good bucks since you guys stopped wearing mullets, or did the bucks go to shorter styles at the same time? ;)

GF I'm pretty sure the style remains unchanged down in those southern counties. Here's last years big buck numbers from those registered.
