Fal range test

Yesterday we went to try out the FAL-SA-58 I purchased sometime ago. The first time we fired the weapon with iron sights (.308 caliber) at 100 yds off the bench, I was disappointed in the end result after viewing targets. My eyes just won't do this weapon justice of any kind. My average groups were in the 10 to 14 inch range because I just could not make out the target. I had a tuff time just putting the front blade sight in the center of the ghost ring rear sight.

Then I decided to install a Leupold 2 x 7 VX-2 rifle scope on top the FAL military rifle. We added bright orange 1 inch stick on's to the target bulls-eye and I was ready on the firing line. The first two groups of 3 shots I fired, just about knocked me out of my seat after looking through the spotting scope. I had 3 shots touching one another and then 2 shots touching and 1 shot 3/4 of an inch away. Moral to this day, is that rifle is a keeper you betcha!:cool:

I then let several others fire this rifle and everybody who pulled the trigger was shooting outstanding groups, I was really impressed with the little .308 carbine type weapon. The man at the factory in Illonois said the accuracy was 1 to 2 inches but I had no idea it would end up shooting this good with Winchester ball ammo.

Now all you skeptics, who don't believe the FAL is a great military shooting battlefield rifle, need to check things out for yourself on the internet. A history verses other model weapons it all there.

Now my DSA FAL SA 58 will shoot 3 shot groups all day long under 1/2 -MOA, I now have a 3 x 9 Leupold on the rifle, instead of the 2 x 7 model which I used on another hunting rifle. You want a .308 caliber that can shoot under the 1-MOA at the range, then get a DSA product in the FAL SA 58 model. They are not cheap at $2,200 dollars but you only get what you pay for in a rifle.;) :cool: :cool: :D
