Wasn't sure where to post these, but here they are.

Got these at work this past Sunday morning.

Kind of unique buck, with a double main beam on his right side.

Holy cats! Where do you work - a photography studio???

Those are really nice shots, man. Great lookin' deer, too.

Any chance you can hunt him there, or is that a no-go? That unusual point/beam adds a lot of great character, too. I've always told myself I'll be happy with just one nice typical on the wall, but I'd have to make room for that guy :D

Interesting knot, too, on that ...what is it, a G-2? - left side of him.

I really like the triple left brow tine too. There is a lot of character in that rack. Very nice photos, thanks for posting. Screw worm during velvet for that knot on the left G-3 (G-2 would be the next antler up from the brow tine GF) or an injury to the velvet during development? What do you think?

Thanks for the vocabulary lesson, Bush!

Could be any type of injury, of course; screw worm is something that never occurred to me. I don't know if I've never lived where we've had those, or if I'm just out of the loop on that whole deal

What's really amazing, though, is the fact that it'll be there next year, too, and bigger. The guy who figures out how that works is going to be amply rewarded!

I wouldn't even consider passing up a deer like that (unless his big brother was right there next to him ;) ), but if he dodged me, I wouldn't be at all bothered thinking that he was still out there getting more interesting all the time :D

Great pics....you could tell people all day long about the deer you've seen, but a photo speaks volumes....

Here's a couple close ups I've been fortunate to get.

Can't quite tell... Are both of those buttons, or just the one on da bottom?

WOW. Thanks to all for the nice comments.

No, I am not any sort of a professional photographer.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

I got this shot because I had used my hunting skills to pattern the deer movement.

I am the mechanic at a golf course which also borders on a landfill.

Over the last few years, I have learned the travel patterns of the deer as they move back and forth from the golf course, over to the "wetlands" area where they live. And no, unfortunately, hunting is not allowed.

This past Sunday morning, I saw two big bucks, from afar, trying to get back into their bedding area. I had a very good idea of the spot where the deer might jump the fence. I threw the truck in park, and sprinted over a small ditch. Just as I came around the corner where I thought he might be, there he was.

I was able to get four quick pics before he was gone.

Here are the last two. Not as clear as the first two, but shows the body size of him a little better.

A little drama at work......... What would you all age this buck at.

I say a firm 4 1/2. Others disagree. Please chime in with your thoughts.

Thanks.

I don't know much about aging deer, though that dude sure has a bit of a gut on him! :D

But seriously, dude.... Doesn't the course management know how destructive those damn deer can be to a fairway? To say nothing of what they can do to a putting green!

(actually, you should see one after a bull Elk has decided it loks like a nice spot for a wallow....:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:)

I'm just sayin', man.. You should really volunteer your services before those dang deer start doing tens of thousands of dollars' worth of damage to their facility... It's just the responsible thing for you to do!!!

:D

The deer in your pics show colorations unusual to me ... and I've been around the block several times. ;)

Are they typical of all the deer in Michigan?

When does the bowseason open up there?

NC the deer in the northern country have a real reddish coat. When I 1st saw them in upper state NY I was amazed. Beautiful deer.

Yes, NC, I'd say this is pretty typical coloration for a MI deer.

I haven't had very many opportunuties to get this close to a buck of this age.

Bow season opened on Oct. 1st, and I did inquire with the Director of the Landfill where this shot was taken, as to helping out with the serious damage that over-crowding can cause.;)

He said he'd get back with me on that.:(

I'm not holding my breath.:D

Here is one last wallpaper size pic of this beautiful buck.

Hey, bud - if you don't ask, you'll never know :D

Here's hoping he figures out how to come through for you!

BTW - I noticed the nice coloration, but figured it was just warm lighting, since it sure looks like you were out there pretty close to sun-up. Our deer up here range from real red to real grey - same individual deer, just depending on the lighting

What really stands out to me about that dude is the amount of white around his eyes. That makes him look a lot older IMO - maybe because it makes the hair on his head seem so much darker that it looks like a cheap toupee

:D LOL :D

If he ever ends up on your wall - or even if you just get to know him 'socially' - you could call him Ol' Paleface:p
