Do yall know of any firearms sales establishments that would provide a snap cap and let you click the trigger on handguns that you are shopping ? Is this a :eek::eek: idea, or is it a normal thing to do ?

Lamplighter, where I purchase my pistols and that includes Bass PRO or CABELA'S....I always pull that trigger prior to purchase. The place I purchase my Glock pistols at, has a firing range as well but I still just pull that trigger after cocking the pistol.

There are a few pistol manufactures such as KEL-TEC, who tell you to NEVER dry fire one of their cheap pocket pistols but I still do it now and then. I have NEVER had a problem with dry firing a pistol with or without a snap-cap.;)

Yeah I was more leaning toward the notion of a store blanket policy of them being freaked out by a customer placing something in the chamber.

I don't think that most guys behind the gun counter would care if you dry fire their pistol if it means a possible sale. I only saw that once where the guy did not want me to cock the revolver because it would score the cylinder on a new pistol. I think that if you asked for a snap cap that it would be kind of a foreign concept and like you say, if you brought your own in they would want to look it over real well first. It wouldn't be that common around here.

If they won't let me try the trigger they lose the sale. Yes I ask first, but if the answer is no then no sale.
