Lost a very good fishing buddy today. I started working as his apprentice in Sept of '70, and we were fishing buddy's ever since.
He called me about a month ago, and said he was in a nursing home, and wouldn't be coming out. He was very philosophical about it and said he was happy with the very full life he lived. We had a lot of laughs going over the old times from the last 39 years.

He told me a few years ago that even though he'd been fishing since I was in diapers, he never caught a 10 pound Walleye. He usually walleye fished with another buddy of ours, and I told him "Come out with me buddy". It took 2 trips (first one we limited out in less than 2 hours), and he got this 10# 2oz. I was as happy as he was. We have caught a lot of perch and walleyes together...

Bill,
Sorry for your loss.
It's so sad to lose old friends, especially those that are close.
But remember, that they went on ahead of you, to be sure that you would be in good company when your time comes.

All we can ask in life is that we do it right...It looks like he did. Remember that Jesus chose fisherman to be his apostales so he will have a place on the big lake.

Always sad when our friends leave us, only returning in our memories.

When I start missing lost friends too much, I find a kid to play with.

Sorry for your loss Bill. I lost a good one also this year.
I think GW hit the nail on the head. Hopefully he'll have
nice spot picked out.
