November

"But the big month, at least for this boy... and I think for the Old Man ... was November, a harsh, rough, tough man's month, with the threat of winter ahead but a marvelous sense of weathered magic in the woods.

The Old Man's Boy Grows Older By Robert Ruark (http://books.google.com/books?id=XrcLj0IDe9MC&pg=PA269&lpg=PA269&dq=November,+Raurk&source=bl&ots=I0A8ZpSDn3&sig=WIf2LcRNuRQH9oTLPsHX45gmaWo&hl=en&ei=Uf7wSu_zFIWo8Ab2t9n9CA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CA4Q6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=&f=false)

I think I read all of Ruark's books by the time I was 21. I still remember his column in Field in Stream. On hand is a well worn copy of "The Old Man and the Boy" that gets reread every few years.

I recently got my hands on a copy of his lost classics and am about half through.

Ruark is/was my alltime favorite writer.

His 'old man' books speak from the heart of ncboman. :)

Then you will like his lost classics also. It is articles that were written in his "Old Man and the Boy" column of Field and Stream that did not get published in his "Old Man and the Boy" and "The Old Man's Boy Grows Older Books". You will also find just about all his old books as well either new or used at Amazon.
