My Dad passed away this past sumer and I am helping my Mom dispose of some of his things. Most of his guns she has given me but she has someone who is interested in buying the one handgun that my dad had. It is a Stoeger Arms Luger in .22 LR. How do I go about figuring out what a fair price is for this gun? The serial # is 6498 or something like that if that matters. I typically don't sell guns. Any help or info that you could give would be appreciated. Thanks.

Personally I would hold onto it. However, if you are going to sell it I would start with one of the used gun "blue books'.

I believe that gun was made here in NJ, imagine that! They had alloy frames and the barrel was screwed and pinned. I too would keep it as a nice can roller-plinker. Prices range from 2-300.00 depending on how much the buyer wants it.

Sorry about your dad.

Deerslayer my condolences on your father passing on to that big hunting ground in the sky.

My thoughts are to keep the pistol but sometimes we have to do what is not the ordinary to other folks. The advice given to look it up in the "Blue Book" on guns is going to give you a good starting point. Good Luck! :)
