The remnants of the hurricane have flooded all lowlying areas locally. I don't even know if I can get to my chosen hunt in the morning.

I expect the water to be at or above the high water marks on these trees;

probably over his head in this area of the swamp.

This should have driven the deer to the higher land on the refuge and should have them somewhat concentrated.

My experience with hemmed in deer is that they are extremely wary and difficult to hunt.

Any thoughts on how to hunt in such a situation?

Maybe stalking? The situation in Missouri right now is the harvest is late. I have my woods and the property around me that is open but right across the road there is about 450 acres of corn that hasn't been combined yet and the story is similar everywhere I plan to be opening morning. My Uncle finished the last 200 acres this week and ran deer out of it like crazy. That's where they are right now and it's pretty hard to do much with them while they're in there. I live in the land of 300 acre (or much larger) fields with 10 acre draws and brush patches and it's hard to hunt that stuff with the crops still in the field.

Hey NC it looks like you've got a tough situation going there.
Looks like you're going to have to adjust and adapt to the
high water.
It's been my experience that when you're hunting spooked or
very wary deer you have to play the wind and let then come to you.
They're on high alert for any movement or noise and with either all
you will see is tails.
My guess is get in a tree stand on high ground and hope they come to you.:)
