Friend of mine posted a scathing report on this outfit on another forum.
http://www.nationalarcherysupply.com/
I've seen the site before but never ordered. Anyone else having problems with em?

Man - I'm sorry to hear that. I ordered a bUnch of broadheads from them a couple of weeks ago and they are still not here. Looks like I've got to call my CC company and have them pull the payment.

That was the feeling I was starting to get from the 'above timberline' outfit, but to their credit, they did take pretty good care of me in the end.
Any chance that the people there are all out hunting? That was the scoop at AT, it turned out. Seems like a bad business decision to have nobody minding the store, so to speak, but you can't expect the whole staff to skip their season, either....
Oughtta be a happy medium in there. Bad customer service is Bad Bidness....

I just check the on-line tracking and it said that the product I ordered was back ordered and ETA should be Nov. 12th... 4 days ago. It has not shipped yet. When I ordered it it was supposed to be in stock.
Their web-site does not make it easy to talk to a person or cancel an order. I'm going to simply have my credit card deny the charge.
Back-ordered stuff not coming in when expected is not exactly unusual, I'm 'fraid... :(
And being a low-overhead operation, I can see why they wouldn't have much in the way of staff.
But being impossible to contact is inexcusable. If your stuff hasn't shipped, you should be able to cancel no problem, so here's wishin' you good luck widdat :D

I talked to my BOA Visa rep, and they said they can have my account recredited for the charge, but that I should at least try to get the order canceled by NAS.
So... I sent the order cancellation to ordercancel@nationalarcherysupply.com and we'll see if I get any mileage there.
If they don't respond quickly I will go back to Visa, fill out an order dispute form, and get the charge reversed. In general, you have 60 days to do this.
I guess I'll give NAS the chance to do me right... but I'm not hopeful based on Bowman's link. At least there are options.
This is one of the reasons that you should never make an on-line purchase with a debit-card. (I didn't). If you do, the money is gone, gone, gone.
Ah... they sent an auto-response...
Hi There,
This email is to serve to let you know that we are in receipt of your cancellation request and will begin the process.
Please note that refunds don't always, but can, take up to 30 days to process and your credit card company can take 7-10 business days to reflect this refund on your credit card.
Sorry we couldn't help you on this order. Hopefully we can serve you better in the future.
If you have any further questions at this point regarding your refund, please email accounting@nationalarcherysupply.com
Have a great day.

What I get outta this, is that they are trying to eat up my 60 day dispute time so they get to keep my money. That ain't gonna happen.
Here's my answer...
This is COMPLETELY unacceptable.
You can charge my account in a single day, and you can recredit it in a single day. You WILL NOT eat up my 60 days of dispute time with Visa with this delay tactic. If you don't re-credit my account within one week I will have VISA do it. In addition, I will bash your company on every archery web-site I visit, and I visit a lot of them.
Are you sure that's worded strongly enough to get their attention????
ROFLMAO, bro!
And you're dead right. For them to bill you for a back-ordered item is completely unacc-freaking-ceptable. It was a little unusual - but not unforgivable - when the other outfit charged me right away for custom fletched, custom-length arrows that have to come out of stock to be built up. (Ordinarily, there's no excuse for billing your card until the order has pulled an Elvis and left the building)
But on stuff that they've sold to you before they even have to pay the distributor for it?
Nuh-uh. The only reason they might 'need' to do that is a horrible credit rating, in which case you can't afford to have them owing you money.
BTW - maybe you should send them a link to this site as a 'Just in case you think I'm bluffing'.
I was just about to send them a note myself saying - 'Hey, don't mess with that Twanger dude. He spends so much time on archery forums that I don't even believe he actually has a life!' ;)
But I'm afraid of what operators like that might do if they got a hold of my e-mail addy :D
Just tell 'em your handle and give 'em a list of all the forums where they could find themselves out o' binness....

I think they have bigger problems than worrying about talk forum comments.
Sounds to me like they are insolvent. If they are, threats and ugly comments don't mean much.

I fear you may be right Bowman. That was why I went right to my credit card company. I have a bad feeling about this. I have zero expectation that NAS will actually credit my money back on their own, and the longer I wait the better a chance there is that they will go under before I can get it resolved with them. It has that smell.

I hate when I see stuff like this.
Truth be told, they probably had the best of intentions when they started. :(

a company should NOT charge you for items that are back ordered... If they charge you for an item it should be heading out the door within 24 to 48 hrs or so...

might be what sent em down the tubes. ... needed the money for the rent ... or the host site. Some of em are pricey if a fella isn't careful.
and once a shallow pocket company starts down the spiral swirl (taking money before goods are delivered), it's very difficult to find dry land again.
In a war of attrition, deep pockets and low overhead usually prevail.

They just sent me an email that my account will be credited in 2-10 biz days.
We'll see how that goes.
