No deer hunting today. I woke up early and looked outside and decided I wasn't going to sit through that again and laid back down for a while. Then the phone rings and it's my dentist. Last week I had a routine cleaning and he saw something that he didn't like and took a biopsy. The results came back "atypical" and his words were "it looks dangerous to me". So I'm headed to get examined by an oral surgeon at a cancer hospital later today. Nothing is definite yet so I don't really know what sort of problem I have but I reckon by tonight I will. And no, I don't smoke or chew. Happy deer season.

Good luck sidekick.......I'll say a prayer...99% of the times these things turn out ok.

Sorry to hear that.

I know it's easy for me to say, but try not to think about it too much and let your mind run away with the "what if's." Take it one step at a time.

Years ago my wife got a pretty terrible initial diagnosis, and she's still ok.

Best of luck. Same thing happened to my dad who has never smoked or chewed tobacco. False alarm. Hope it is the same for you.

Thanks guys, I'll be heading down there in another hour or two so there won't be any hunting today. I've got some summer sausage started and need to work on that today anyway. I'm not that worried about it but I am somewhat anxious to get this figured out and the sooner the better.

hope all goes will. Sounds like a good doctor, catching something early.

Best wishes Sidekick. Thank your lucky stars that you went to the dentist and that he was on the ball and was aware of a potential problem. Only with early diagnosis can you have the least issues. I goofed around with an eye problem for a couple of months and have paid dearly for that delay. No matter what the current prognosis, you are on the way to recovery just because you found that there was a problem.

Well I got home just in time to not hunt. I didn't really learn anything because the doc wanted another doctor to look at it too before he did anything. So I'm rescheduled to next week. But we had a good and frank talk about a few things and I'm a little clearer on what might be happening.

Venado, I have a good dentist. He was very upfront and insistent that I get this looked at. Just about didn't give me an option. So I'll hunt the rest of the season and then I guess I'll find out more. So I guess I don't really know any more than I did earlier but I'm a lot closer to getting it fixed. Thanks guys.
