Iowa Bird hunting sucked this year!

We started out in Iowa hunting pheasants but between the weather and the past 2 year of crappy climate, it made for some for the worst hunting in years.

We headed down to Pairs, MO. And hunted quail and it was right on the spot! The dogs worked great and we had a fantastic time on the fence rows.

All in all bird season is working pretty well with the new pup.

Ron, I did not remember that you were a bird hunter.

I was trying to remember the name of the old member who was a cattle farmer in West Virginia and big catfisherman. If I am not mistaken you and he were in the Rangers together.

REM, my old high school coach now lives at Paris, MO. and I been meaning to go see that Old Bulldog. He is around 81 this year and still going strong by golly.

I been also wanting to try out the quail population around the part of the state. The reports I got were real sketchy at best but I figured I could kill two birds with one bullet so to speak. :D

Sorry to hear this. I was in Iowa on business Oct. 29 and my friends never saw a bird.
I drove to South Dakota and got 6 in 2 days. The first day shot 3 in 20 minutes. The
2nd day 12 of us got 36 and 18 sharptails. I should have stayed another day but was
happy with what I got.

Were you at Ft. Lewis then?
