When I looked at an M&P first hand a few months ago, it felt really good.
Lately I have been looking at online ads, on gun sites and on the offical S&W website.

Every picture that I have looked at seems to show a crack iin the frame of the gun, where a pin seems to be installed. It is right in front of the slide release in this picture.

Look at this link for an example.

Is this an optical illuison or what?

If you look at the muzzle, does it appear to you that the frame is bending down from the tip of the barrel?

There appears to be a bigger gap between the slide and frame at the muzzle area than there is closer to the trigger part of the frame.

I have shot a couple of these pistols and was surprized somewhat at the way they shot nice groups and how they opperated (No Jams) at the range. The price was a good price too! :D

I like the ergonomics better than those of my Glock 22 (but so far, not better enough to buy one :o).

The ones I handled at the store really felt good in my hands. I am more comfortable with a DA/SA pistols, having owned Gold Cups and Hi-Powers. So I am being a little slow to embrace the 'plastic' guns, but I have to say that the S&W did feel good.

I was also interested in looking at the FNP-40, but it doesn't seem to be an easy gun to find.
