I've got an old coal stove that I fixed up to use in my shop. Hooking up a flue to it would be a snap except that it has an oval outlet. I am having trouble finding an oval to round adapter that is the right size. I can find them online but they rarely give dimensions so I'm not sure what I'm looking for. What I want to do is use 6" pipe. The oval outlet measures approx (I did this with a tape measure so it might not be exact) 23" outside and 21" inside. I am thinking that this is probably a 7" oval. So how hard is it to find a 7" to 6" adapter? Or is that even what I need? I'm about to just go to town and get a piece of sheetmetal and make one. This stove was probably made in the 30's so it may not be a standard size. Any ideas?

Look almost to the bottom of this page, it gives sizes to order for the size of your oval...

Thanks Bill. After looking at that I went and remeasured with a measuring tape which worked a lot better. The Oval is tapered and the big end is 22 1/4". The one on the bottom is exactly what I need. (that page came up on my google search but I missed it!)

Your welcome...
The old "Fisher" stove I heat my house with has 7" pipe.
Sometimes it's not to easy to find locally..

7" is an oddity around here. I've never seen it anywhere.

My old Glenwood kitchen range and Glenwood parlor stove, plus the Anthracite Industries hot water coal stove in the basement, all have a 7 oval by 6 round.
It's used on many old coal stoves.
Couldn't find any when I installed the kitchen range, so I made the adapter pipe out of some sheet stainless I had in the shop.
Good to know there's a source for them. Thanks Bill

Our local hardware store carries 6, 7, and 8 inch black flue pipe, tees, elbows, clean-outs, etc, but not tapered adapers for one size to another.
