I have someone in Indiana who wants to buy a rifle from me.
I told them to get me an FFL to receive it. They did.

Now they tell me I have to ship it from an FFL, as well, because of Indiana state law. How can state law override federal law on interstate commerce?

Anyone here from Indiana that can separate myth from reality there?

State laws can always be more restrictive than fed laws...I used to be able to drink on a military base, but not off it. In CA, there is a waiting period to buy a gun and all deals must go through a dealer and if you sell a gun to a person in violation of state law, it be in violation of FED law.

Now, I ai'nt got no idear, no way 'bout no IN law. But, to answer your question, if you ship the gun to a dealer, then you are satisfying the FED law (assuming that I understand you correctly in that he is in IN, and you are in some other state). But, again IN can have more restrictive laws than FED law and if their law is looser than Fed law, then the tighter of the two laws applies. Whichever law is the tightest, it applies.
