This buck was shot by my best friend, and hunting partner.

Yesterday was the last day of the muzzle-loader season here in Michigan.

He went out for the evening hunt. Walked up the steep ridge to a spot we call the "oak tree blind".:D It overlooks a pretty good size cut corn field.

3:15 PM he crests the ridge and peers out into the corn. Nothing.

Takes another two steps closer to the blind and looks out to see 4 deer coming across the field right at him. And high horns bringing up the rear.

When they get to about 50 yards he whistles, which luckily stops the buck perfectly broadside. He touches off the side-lock, and the buck travels 60yards and drops in his sight.

As you can see, a very nice buck. And the biggest 6 pointer I have personally ever seen.

Sorry for being so long-winded, but just very happy for my hunting partner, and thought you guys in the Traditional Muzzleloaders might like to see it.

Far out.... there is absolutely nothing as cool looking as a sidelock with scope on it.... Love it... :)

Nice deer too...

Aloha...

Really nice Buck. I never seen a scoped sidelock... looks neat !!

How does he keep the lens clean? I had a Knight inline that use to leak gasses all over the scope and ruined the finish. I had a hard time keeping the lenses clear. I sold it and got a Savage.

HUMMMMM.....
I wonder how one of my flintlocks would look with a scope......
One of mine is a T/C Hawkin's like his.... :) ;)

That is such a beautiful, perfectly symmetrical 6-pointer. :)
