Well since nobody seems to post on dogs! I'll try the ATV section ok. Now all I can say is those Yamaha 700 and 550 are the best dog gone.....cute hey vehicles you could sit aboard for a days romping in the woods on trials. You just can't beat that power-steering folks. They are just a pleasure to ride and your not sore the next day in the shoulders.;)  :D :D

I just bought a new 09 close out Grizzly 700. I now have 8 miles on it. In the end it cost me only $700 more than what my 99 Polaris Sportsmen did when I bought it new. I could not believe how far they have come, and how reasonable the price. Now if I can only get the plow figured out it will be the perfect rig.

I would dearly love to have the Power Steering, but my '99 Honda Foreman I bought in Sept '98 is still running like new.
I took it in for the 10 hour valve adjustment back in '98, and it ain't seen a repair shop yet. At a list price now of $7400.00 for the one I would want, I guess I'll have to use the "Armstrong" power steering option.
It ain't really that bad (manual steering) on frozen lakes (ice fishing) which is what I use it 80% of the time I'm on it.

Power steering on the Grizzly was an extra $600, I passed. I was told if you did a lot of trail riding in old ruts it was a good option. However if you didn't it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Anyway I tried both and decided I didn't need it. We are just now digging out of a 18 inch snow fall. I have been plowing and pulling the girls around in the sled. I sure have no regrets with my choice so far. It steers through the snowdrifts like a dream.

Whopper Stopper, I can tell you up front that it is a big deal, if you are locked in 4 wheel drive trying to turn around trees in the woods etc, espeically going up hill.
My wife can turn her ATV (550 Yamaha) with one friggin arm going around turns in the woods. She could not ride that 450 Hoda Foreman for more than an hour in the woods before she got plub wore out from turning the ATV etc.
Now she can go for 2 or 3 hours with no problems!;):)

I've got over 6000 miles on my 2000 Polaris. Besides regular oil changes (and one set of tires) the only thing I've had to fix was the sensor for the fan. It quit working last year. I looked at new ones a while back but mine still runs so well that I can't really justify replacing it. I had a Yamaha before that and while I put a ton of miles on it too I worked on it constantly. It was the biggest lemon I've ever had. The wrist pin came loose at 15 months. I had to bore it out and put in a new piston. I also replaced the CDI unit twice, numerous spark plugs, coil, stator coil and probably a few other things that I've forgotten. I'm not saying that Yamaha is junk but the one I had was. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from that experience. I have the 425 Expedition. It's the one that has the 5 speed. It's been the most trouble free piece of equipment I've ever owned.
