I was in a gun shop yesterday and nearly fell over. They has all kinds of primers (except no Winchester) in all sizes and the shelves were packed. The greatest surprise were the prices that were from early last year. Large and small rifle and pistol primers were $26.00 per 1,000. IMR powder was $21.00 and they had it all. I hope we have turned the corner. Take care...

What's the punch line Joe? I've just seen the same old bare shelves.

I think there are several things going on that impact the reloading component availability situation. The shop owner said that various backorders are finally being filled and that is why he has a lot of reloading components. I believe the recent panic buying is slowing down a bit. That may mean that folks are hitting the saturation point in their stockpiling efforts. Maybe they have maxed out their credit cards. In any case, more stuff is showing up and prices are still all over the place. it pays to shop around. Take care...

There seems to be no shortage in this area anymore, and prices are starting to come in line.
I can even find some harder to find stuff now like Vihtavuori reloading powders, and Blackhorn 209.
Primers and powders are no problem at all.

I still can not find any primers after Friday (when the truck comes). I don't know if that is because they don't get very much in or because everyone buys it up in a day. And by the way, can you use small rifle bench-rest primers in a .223 or large rifle magnum in a 30-06?
