has anyone reloaded the 7.62 nagant ammunition? I recently saw a revolver chambered in this round at Gander Mtn. I thought that it would be a decent target/protection in the woods gun. Anyway...would you recommend a wad cutter bullet or round nose(I would be case forming from 32-20 starline brass). I figured you would have to slug the barrel first to get a bullet size. Thanks for the help.

I have loaded 32-20 ammo for it.
That revolver really sucks, compared to the 1873 Colt single action army that preceded the 1885 Nagant.

I just found some being sold for $80 or less.... Well, they were sold out, of course, but that's dirt cheap.

Of course, that kind of begs the question... Is a $75 revolver more dangerous to the shooter or the target?

3 minites browsing the web tells me that if you want to cobble together your ammo from something else, you had better be damn sure that you know what you're doing.... Personally, if I wanted a .32-something for the purpose you just described, I'd get the Ruger SP in .327 Fed Mag...

From the looks of the case it looks like a reloader's nightmare. I suppose if you got molds and cast and sized you bullets it would shoot the 32- somethings alright. The pistol itself looks like it's got plenty of parts to break and replace. You might need to buy several pistols just for parts. Never had one, probably never will.

sharpshooter94,

IF ya gotta have a Nagant, go for it. I have handled and shot a few and at about $75, they are NOT cheap enough in my opinion. That "gas sealing" cylinder forward and back movement requires a fully seated bullet that would be a challenge to reload.
