I am a serious military firearms collector and I also collect all the other stuff: bayonets, slings, charger clips, cleaning kits, instruction manuals and any other stuff that goes with the issue arms.
Last month I went to a yard sale and saw something I never saw before. There was a foot-long wooden broom stick gizmo with metal along the full length of same. The seller asked a dollar for the stuff his grandad, a WWI Veteran, had in his collection of stuff. I gave him a buck and came home. It seemed I had a "Trench Zap" until I removed the upper nail and realized I had 300 each M1917 Colt or S&W Half Moon clips for the .45 ACP cartridge! I do have a Mark VI Webley .45 ACP Revolver and can use some Half Moon clips.
This Thursday morning at my local gunshop nearby a dozen of us over age 60 chaps congregate. I call them the "Tioga Militia" and they are the citizens Sarah Brady looses bladder control over, I am sure. I will distribute all the Half Moon clips my fellow chaps will want. Several have Colt and S&W M1917 revolvers, and a few Webleys, to boot. I feel gifted to distribute some clips to fellows who need same. If you are at Cooper's this Thursday, there is no charge.
I am a military rifle collector, but will dwell on military handguns, and clips, as terrain and situation dictate. The subject should have been titled Military Handgun Clips, but I could not amend same. Whatever?
