After reading the piece in American Hunter (http://www.americanhunter.org/ArticlePage.aspx?id=2249&cid=58) on the Traditions Shenandoah in .36 cal, I'm thinking about a flintlock squirrel rifle.

Funny thing. A place I know to be full of squirrels is also full of bears.

Swamp, have you handled one of those TC Triumphs next to an Encore? I did and I'd still buy the Encore just for the way it felt. That whole thread on the Savage smokeless has me pretty well spooked off getting any of them with all the cleaning the guys are talking about. The crud ring was bad enough, but when they got talking about a bolster screw, what ever that is, coming back and taking out my eye like a .22 shell... That about did it for this poster.

Bushman, I would certainly have to look at both the triumph and encore side by side and compare features and feel.... sounds like it might be a good option ....
