Anyone use Carlson extended Chokes for skeet ,trap, or clays?? I am thinking of getting some for my Browning 525- they are priced right($29-$34) BUT how good are they compared to others?

SC, I myself have not heard of the Carlson chokes, but I tend to think that any extended choke really improves the pattern density and more even pellet distribution than the much shorter flush chokes. I'm seeing a lot more extended choke tubes at our trap club this year than in years past. I use Briley extended chokes and the patterning difference was amazing. Our team isn't that good so we stay up around the 17 yard line, but I am high gun with a Briley light modified extended choke and #8 shot. It is really easy to hit with. I've got a Briley modified extended tube too that I like for pheasants.

Carlson makes an excellent choke for the money. Briley, Comp-n-Choke, Kick's, Pure Gold, Indian Creek, all make super nice chokes too. Honestly, in my limited experience in the clays games the real benefit of an extended choke isn't so much in the pattern as it is in adding a little weight out front to smooth the swing, easier in and out without a tool, and easier to identify the constriction of the choke in the gun. Extended chokes are trendy and cool right now if that means anything to you.
