I got him ! made my way down to Va at 2AM arrived at 4:30/ 1st light this bird started off gobbling and would not stop. It's now 8 AM and he is still going at it walking back and forth on the other side of the small ridge trying to get me to come to him. Finally he come in see's the Tom decoy , struts and then walks off. I fingered time to make my move if I want him. I make a mad dash 250 yards down the trail over the ridge and plop down 30 yards from the lake edge and 30 yards from the rise of the small ridge. I give out a few yelps and sit there 15 minutes later here he come's. Not a care int eh world I give him one soft call , he stops looks up and down he went at about 35yards.

This is the bird Jake and I were after when the boss Tom cut him off and Jake shot the Big one. 3 years later it was His turn.

I know that feeling. That stragety, quick thinking, and strategic movement is what makes it exciting. Very nice bird, and the story reflects veteran skills. I am going to keep all of the Right Wing feathers from my 09 kill and split the hulls in two, then shape & glue them on my arrows. I use feathers now, but will replace some this summer with my turkey feathers.

The Left Wing feathers, I can clip them and mail them to whoever might want them. nc, you have a left wing clamp ??

Dave,

I'm late to this but congrats on the skillful maneuvers. You’ve earned some strutting rights yourself.

May I ask where about in Va was this? I don’t expect an exact location or even a county, but just the general vicinity (i.e. northern, central, etc.) The reason I ask is because some of the place I hunt don’t seem to have many birds and it’s not because of my hunting skill. I conceded long ago that turkeys are smarter than me.

I've been hunting down around Zion Cross Roads. There are many birds in Louisa County.

Ping Drivers

With golfers across the world considering the Ping Drivers as one of the best going, it's little wonder this name brand is highly sought after by golf players of all levels. There are many different variations of discount golf clubs (http://www.istockgolf.com) and they will be used where appropriate. The more experienced a player is, the more drivers they are likely to carry. ishiner
