Spend some money. If the roofer would get some of his bids, then he would give the a/c guy the go-ahead to replace that old system. Once the a/c guy gets that job, he'll likely call that Mason up who came and gave a price on bricking the front steps, and give the Mason the go-ahead, and on and on.....

My old riding mower just gave up the ghost, so I just bought a John Deer lawn-tractor. Schweeeeeeeet! Two cup holders. Rear bagger. Arh-arh-arh-arhhh.
The salesman at Lowes said he made some good commissions Sunday, so I figure he's gonna be spending some $ too.

Doin' my part to stimulate the economy. :D

Actually, that's not true, since the Missus' car is sitting at the shop waiting for us with an $1800 repair bill on the counter :p

I really blew my budget. My 26 year old John Deere 420 bit the dust, so after looking at the 500 series, and not liking a belt driver snowblower, I said the heck with it. I now have a X720SW.
It will blow the snow all the way up on the barn roof !!

Bad part is that I could have got 15 new rifles with scopes :(

What we really need to do is figure out how to build a competitive manufacturing base of some kind.

When the most widely desirable jobs are with the government in some manner, it's a sure bad sign for individual freedom and prosperity.
