Think I will attack the thistle this weekend.

Good days to get rid of it.

Here's one way; Don't disturb it. Spray it down with vinegar while it's in a condition desiring to take up water (ie; spray late afternoon on a preferably dry sunny day). Avoid contact with desirable plants. A common handheld triggerbottle sprayer is good for this.

131 uses for vinegar (http://www.angelfire.com/cantina/homemaking/vinegar.html#Index)

Well ...

I had a crepe myrtle that had gotten out of hand in a corner of my yard so Saturday I undertook eliminating the beast. Growing up thru the many suckers were several poison ivy vines about the diameter of a quarter. Using pruners, hand saw, and a chain saw, I finally got it down, cut up, and pulled out back to the burn pile.

Now my eyes are swelled almost closed, my cod piece is on fire, and both arms are covered in irritation. I have no problem refraining from scratching but being me sure sucks today.
