I won't say we catch a lot, certainly river bass so not tend to be big. We do catch large mouth, smallmouths, guadalupe and guadalupe/smallmouth hybrids, plus catfish, whitebass and drum. But we do have relaxed solitude, good campfires and excellent food.

Some of the most relaxing fishing I've done has been on the Frio. I never took a rod on the tube wit me but I would walk from pool to pool. There are some decent sized bass on the Frio. I've caught 2#ers and have seen fish that I know would go 5#. I saw a huge freshwater prawn in the Frio once. It must have been 16 - 18" long. I always released the bass cause It's tough to make a living on that river if you're a fish.
I still haven't whittled my accoutrements down to kayak or canoe size just yet though.
