Has anyone tried night vision equipment for shooting coyotes at night?
Here we're allowed to shoot coyotes 24/7 but we're not allowed to use anything that gives off light. However we can use anything that gathers light. Like night vision stuff.
Does anyone make a night vision rifle scope for civilian use?
I've seen on tv where they were shooting hogs at night. I think it was in Texas.
The show was seen through the camera and didn't show the rifle scope.

I've never hunted with night vision but I can tell you that there is some very good hardware out there. It's priced accordingly. None of it cheap.

You might find some generation 1 cheap enough but the technology has come a long ways since then.

my understanding from another forum; some of the less expensive stuff ain't all that great for detailed observation beyond close range. I haven't looked into it though.
Have you hunted in moonlight? I would think they could be killed pulling them across a field or open area on moonlight nights but I've never tried it.

Hey NC, no I haven't tried hunting them in the moon light but know some guys that use to do
that. The problem for me is they would hunt in January and February with snow on the ground,
at night, and the colder the better. I need my atv to get around and where I hunt there would be too
much snow. It's also a good idea to have someone else to hunt with and the guys I know don't want to shoot
a coyote that bad.
This is something I've thought about for years.
I have just met a yound guy that is into coyote hunting and hope things work out that he can teach me to
hunt them and maybe become a hunting partner.
I'll have to look into night vision stuff. I'm afraid it will be out of my price range.
