A friend of mine has one of these. While asking about it he mentioned that S&W got in trouble with it because they stole the idea from Glock. He said that, because of that, you can't get parts for it and he can't find a holster for it.
I knew that this story sounded like an unban legend. So I searched and know this all to be untrue; with exception to some patent infringment.

What I couldn't find was any date that showed when this event between S&W and Glock went down. Since S&W continued to make the Sigma, was there any changes to the design after a certain s/n? Or did they just agree to pay to use the disputed Glock designing.

I understand that it mostly had to do with the Trigger assy.
Anyone have any background on this?
Thanks

The worst gun I have ever owned was a S&W Sigma .40auto. unreliable and made of cheap plastic. trigger is flimsy and easily broken. stovepipes, misfeeds, if it can go wrong with an auto it will go wrong with the sigma. Glock should laugh at Smith for making such a ****py knock off. IMHO you should recommend to your friend to put a chop saw to that gun or trade it for a tricycle. best regards.
