Missouri opener

Am I the first? Today is opening day in Missouri. I won't bore you with the details and pics till later but at 8am I saw my fourth tom. He was 23 lbs., 11" beard and 1 1/8 spurs. Pretty typical Missouri bird. More later. I'm a night shifter and it's my bedtime.

I gave it 2 hrs and called it quits. I had toms within earshot all morning, but I guessed wrong right off and wasn't going to make it worse the first day by running and gunning. I'm not a terribly patient turkey hunter, and have off all day tommorrow.

The plan is to get a bird down early and take the wife crappie fishing. Heck I may drop everything and go fishing at 9 no matter what the birds do.
