Yeah, I knew I was going to be away from home and didn't know if I'd have internet access. Didn't know about the spider laying in wait for me either. lol

I'm not sure. The bite is a non-issue at this point. The staph it turned into seems to be healing well, although there is still one 'lump' yet to disappear completely. I've had a gauzey thingy draining the infection out and last night the wife pulled it out (per Dr's instruction), so I guess I'm gettin well.

Only one thing gives me pause.

When I was talkin to the doc I asked him if what happened to me (staph) happens to other guys my age that are in real good shape?

Answer is;
'Anyone can get it. Not uncommon, ,,, but often the person has other issues as well, ie, diabetes, heart problem, ,,, and there was one guy that had cancer and didn't know it. '

ponder ,,,,

oh well, better go for it while I'm here. :>))

Well, we had a bout with the staph stuff at school in the locker rooms. Football produces open wounds and if staph is in the area (which it is) it has a place to grow. It was a nightmare. All the kids recovered fine but it was a real concern for a while. Glad to hear you're coming along fine. I think the other issues that they usually find in these cases are incidental or allowed the staph to get a start. Keep it clean and see it all the way through and you'll do fine. I don't know why spider bites seem to be more apt to get infected. Maybe spiders are staph carriers. Who knows?
