Freaking weather

This whole winter has been strange. We haven't had a good rain in a year, literally. This spring, it's windy. We always have spring winds, but not like this. Day after day, it's blowing 30 mph or more. Today they're forecasting gusts up to 50. I have an acre of pasture that I need to plant, but I can't get a day to spread the seed without it ending up 3 miles downwind. It took me 2 weeks to find a day to spray roundup on a new garden area without killing a big area of grass next to it.
Amazingly, though, we haven't had frost to go with it. It's 31 this morning, but the fruit trees can survive that, especially with the wind blowing. My cherries and peaches are in bloom now. The bees will have to tie themselves to the flowers, though.

We've had a very fast spring here. It seems like it went from 40's to 80's in one week, and then stayed at 70-80's for weeks. It will be a banner year for all of our fruit trees. So good that I'm going to have to knock off 50%+ of the apple and pears off of the trees so they won't break themselves. I'll have to watch the peaches and plums too. I really don't want to knock off any of the plums since they are my favorite.

It's still at it here. Right now it's snowing a little with the wind around 40. It let up some yesterday, but today and tomorrow are supposed to be hellish for wind. I'm weeks behind in my spring outside work. The garden is hopeless so far.

Still out here in western Arkansas and it was kinda cool today ,,, but the fish were biting good. :>))

Tomorrow is being billed as a Tornadic Monday. Tornados are a main area of concern in this part of the world.

It didn't snow here again today. No tornadic activity either. Wind and sun and a bit of rain Saturday night.
