.... worth reading
Who is it that has the great lead-removing recipe? Sabre maybe?
I've shot a couple boxes of CB loads through the 1895, so now I'm thinking I'd better get with it on the cleaning regimen.... No immediate plans for high-test loads, but bad accuracy is bad accuracy....

Since I am not a CAS shooter, maybe I don't understand. Why would someone want to shoot pure lead in a centerfire rifle? To me, that makes no sense. Not talking about gas check bullets.

While I shoot a lot of "wheel-weight" & gas checked bullets, I don't know of anyone that shoots pure lead in a centerfire rifle, or even a centerfire pistol.
I can certainly agree that there could (would) be leading, and pressure problems.

This might be a little off topic, but I have a friend
who works in a smelter, and gets me pure lead.
I melt it down and cast round balls and maxi balls for my muzzleloaders.
Is that a bad thing to do to your muzzloaders? I thought
that cleaning them after each use would get everything out.
Maybe I should rethink about using pure lead.

Your doing it correctly, M/L's always ( I should know better than say ALWAYS !!) shoot pure lead for round balls, and MAXI Balls.

I understand that M/L's are the only gun you shoot pure lead in. Centerfire is always supposed to be an alloy, is that correct? Let me know if I missed something.
