Ethanol is particularly hard on small engines. It should not be used in anything that sits for long periods of time like garden tillers, chainsaws and such. It will start corroding the carburetors and once that starts the only real fix is replacement. Cleaning and rebuilding is only a temporary fix.

That is a good read Bill. We hit on the value of using pure gas in small engines last year and this only confirms that. I use nothing but BP premium gas in all my small engines because it does not contain any Ethanol. Sometimes I wonder if it is as fresh as the lower grades, but so far not a bit of trouble using it. Thanks for putting up that write up.
