Finally bit the bullet and ordered some black powder from Graf and Sons two weeks ago. Goex was out of stock, so I ordered two pounds of Graf's brand 3F and three pounds of 2F. I ordered it online on a Saturday night, and it was at my house the following Tuesday morning.

So this afternoon I took some of the 3F and my brother's .45 Hatfield flinter that he's letting me use out and tried out the powder.

It looks the same as Goex, and it shoots the same. It went off every time.

I'm going to try some 2F in my TC Hawken during Memorial Day weekend.

Has anyone else tried the Graf's brand powder? Do you like/dislike it?

I can't comment on the black powder as I don't use it but I just wanted to say I live about 12 miles from Grafs and that's been just a little too convenient for me sometimes. ;)

Is it kind of like living close to a candy store sometimes?

Took the TC Hawken out yesterday and shot with Graf's 2f powder. It did real well, and so did I. I don't remember the .54 kicking as much as it did yesterday though. It's not like I load it up heavy either, as it likes 85 grains of powder for best results. I'm betting that I am getting soft because I have only been shooting my .32 squirrel rifle and sometimes the .45 flinter.

Now that I have plenty of powder, I can shoot the .54 more often and get back into shooting shape for this fall.

I hadn't heard of Graf's until you posted about it.

,,, but I wouldn't be afraid to shoot some and see about it.

How much is a can if you buy it at the store?

I bought it online for $13.99 a pound, $1 cheaper than Goex, which was out of stock, and has been for some time. I bought 5 pounds, and paid $105 and change to have it delivered to my house. Had to sign for it (lucky my daughter was home!).

It looks like Goex, and so far I'm happy with the results. I haven't shot any of it under damp conditions yet, but I don't think it is much different than Goex, which I have shot from Day 1.

Interesting, ... and a good price too.

Before I went to Arkansas back in April I checked prices and availability at several stores along the way. One store in Arkansas had the best price and I drove past it going, figuring I'd stop there on my way back and stock up. As it turned out I didn't come back the same way so I've been kicking myself since then.

I was going through my stock of powder and seeing what I had and what I needed. I was surprised to see a can of Grafs 3FFF in the box. Can not remember where I got it it's half empty so I must have liked it to keep it, LOL
