If anyone has time to kill and wants to look at helping to make a new color layout for these forums then please check out these links.... something with earthy tones to match the theme of these forums... shades of brown, green, gray, orange, and various other earth tones

CC9900 would be my first choice to try.
Kinda difficult to lock down without test driving day and night. To me, what we have now looks ok in daylight but not as good at night.

start here http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/color_maps_forumhome and you will see the red numbers...
then assign color hex codes found at the following link to these numbers... http://htmlcolorcodes.org/

Ok,
You will need to copy each template from the link you posted and transfer these codes to the coordinating numbered spot
If you like what you see then follow the theme onto the other pages of your link

This color scheme may not be appealing to the eye once its on screen, but its a start to know where to go.

the ff6600 would often be a header, and then a thin border around the header to match.

Does this hunting forum look familiar to you?

How about this one?

This one?

This one is a little different than the others.
Can you pick out the subtle difference?

This dont have the detail of the previous,
but it is still appealing to the eye

Our current forums are the equivalent to a white T-Shirt.
They accomplish whats needed, but its a bit boring, and lacks eye
appeal.
If you wish to attract peoples attention, and keep them active I
would suggest changing things a bit to first grab there attention
when there surfing the net for a nice forum.
When you look like the majority of everyone else you really cant expect
this.

PS: Be honest with yourself.
If you were surfing the net looking for a hunting forum, and came across the
five I posted above which one would have caught your attention the most.
Would it have been one of the plain blue ones?
